Founded in 2021, Nostalgia Christmas Shop was created by my daughter and me out of a deep love of Christmas. My happiest family memories as a young girl were centered around trimming the tree, baking and decorating Christmas cookies, opening Christmas gifts, and just being with family. Everyone seemed so happy and care-free, and everything seemed possible! I wished the world could be like that every day.
I now believe that the spirit of Christmas, which we feel when we spend the season in the comforting circle of family and friends, comes from a realization that we are here for something greater than ourselves. We are here to love others; it’s that simple. “Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love” (Hamilton Wright Mabie).
Gifts For Good
Giving a gift is a way of showing love that may be hard to put into words. To me, Christmas gifts recall the gift of love given long ago, the birth of our Savior. That’s why I feel it’s important to offer you opportunities to purchase what we call “Gifts for Good.” These meaningful gifts and decorations are: handmade; hand crafted by artisans in the USA; made of sustainable materials; made fairly by artisans earning a living wage; or part a collection whose sale proceeds help others.
We Care
Nostalgia Christmas Shop cares about the environment by using sustainable, American made products in shipping and packaging whenever possible. The “Grab and Go” gifts that Nostalgia Christmas Shop wraps for you uses tissue paper and shred that is made in the USA, and all gift box packaging is made from 100% recycled materials. We reuse boxes and packaging materials that we have received from others, too.
Each year, Nostalgia Christmas Shop gives back to the community by donating a portion of our sales to a charity. This year, we have made an in-kind donation of goods, and will donate a portion of our sales to LAMPlighters, a philanthropic organization to which I belong. LAMPlighters is an organization of women who have helped Tampa's homeless and at-risk children for over 35 years by supporting Metropolitan Ministries and Joshua House.
